LIFX Smart Light Bulb App Review
Application software download free Android
LIFX is an interesting smart lighting brand that sits between premium Philips Hue and bargain-basement options like Wyze. They offer a decent variety of bulbs and lights in different shapes and sizes, all capable of working smoothly with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa – the two most popular voice assistants in use today. And they do all this without the need for a hub or bridge.
The app does a lot of the heavy lifting, and it’s available on both iOS and Android. It supports all the main features of the smart bulb range, including on/off, dimming and changing color/white temperature. It also has a range of special effects such as the music visualizer, fire, move, candle flicker, strobe and color cycle. It’s possible to group lights, personalize Group cards with pictures, automate Day to Dusk schedules and create scenes with one click combinations of lighting from a library of beautiful preset themes such as ‘Proud’ to ‘Soothing’.
Like many of the better smart light bulbs on the market, the LIFX Color does away with a hub and instead connects to your router directly using WiFi. It’s compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and HomeKit, and the app can be used to establish rooms and schedules for individual bulbs. You can even use routines to set your bulbs to fade in and out over a time period, or turn them on at certain times of the day such as when you’re expected home from work.
